Over the last year or so, I became aware of being trapped in a vicious cycle. One that most of us get caught in. We work all week looking forward to the weekend, and spend every weekend dreading the following week. I finally came to the realization that if every Sunday night was spent dreading Monday morning, it's time for a change. I have since began looking into why I do what I do. Simon Sinek is famous for his theory on finding your "why." If you've never heard of this, stop now and watch this video... I have heard many people say that to live your passion, and you will be successful. My passion is and will always be health and fitness. I love the body, and learning how it works. I also love to learn and teach. I have been a Personal Trainer for many years, which seemed like the perfect fit for my passion. Just recently I began the journey of searching for my "why," and shortly after that I heard Robert Kiyosaki state that he doesn't live his passion. He lives his purpose. Mind, blown. This then also prompted me to consider my purpose in life. Though my passion is health and fitness, I believe my purpose is to educate everyone I can on how to improve their own health and fitness, and to be a “Steward of Health.”
This is is the reason I began this blog, to convey information and empower individuals to engage in their own personal wellness. With so many preventable diseases growing to epidemic levels, as well as rising healthcare dependence and premium costs, it is my calling to change, and even save lives. In case you were wondering, my “why” is to educate and inspire others so they can succeed. That is vague, but leads into my purpose, to be a steward of health.
